My Moving...Experience - Page 2

So the big move to Rocklin, California was almost done, now to unpack!

We did have Christmas after all! Praise the Lord. Katie put up one of our faux pine trees and adorned it with a few light strands and stuffed bears she found in the newly packed garage. It was a surprise for Jim and I as we came home one night. The next day she and I went to Wal-Mart and found some outdoor lighted Candy-canes and installed them out front, it seemed to feel that even though we were exhausted, we did not miss Christmas. With a spirit of thankfulness, we praised God for His provision and His love toward us, that He would give us Jesus our Saviour and Lord.

The New Year of 2008 brought many hopes of growth and success.  I now had my Design Studio and a Showroom! which I quickly began to fill and promote. One of my set-backs was the fact that I had to completely stop my business for almost three months, because of the move.  Along with all our personal things packed up was also my business, so starting back up was like getting a car started by pushing it up a hill. It was my exhaustion of the move and it's emotions that became my hill that I had to deal with.

As the months rolled on I decided to do a few Art and Design Shows, one which was in Clayton, California. That show brought some interesting business and some new friends as well,( 'Hi Stan and Shirley, you two are awesome!' ).  I also made the decision to sell wholesale so I had my design table full of new designs and projects.  Although the design time is fun and the creativity always brings me great joy, the real sense of fulfillment and the knowledge that I was doing the right thing at the right time was quickly starting to fade.

Hence came Pre-Paid Legal...During the time of our mortgage fiasco with the mortgage guy, I met a gal who also was a mortgage broker, we got together during that time and I really enjoyed her sweet spirit. So...onePPLJuneatSteveH020.JPG day I received a call from her and we got together to talk about Pre-Paid Legal.  She eventually signed up Katie to use and sell PPL and Katie signed me up to use and sell PPL.  It was a fun but frustrating experience with the continuing lack of fulfillment in my life that just kept growing and growing. Little did I know that the Lord was preparing me for a big change in my life.

Back to the phone call....."You know," I told Jim, "it's going to be alright, this is a good thing, an answer to prayer..." Those were the words that flowed from both

our hearts and mouths as we concluded the phone call.  We both were saying the same thing and that right there was confirmation that God was in control and He was going to show us the way.
I hung up the phone and looked around, "wow", I said to myself "things are going to change".

Growth means change and change involves risk,
stepping from the known to the unknown.
