...and here is where the rubber meets the road... the tough
get tougher... and God has to give His strength... or it all falls apart!
After that Monday, I was not the same. When we left
Oakland, Katie and I were now together in the Windstar. We were extremely hungry and tired and yet we still had to drive to Clayton to deliver several flower arrangements
I had made as a special order for a customer there. We decided to stop and eat first and that was a very wise decision. When
we finally got back to Rocklin, we both fell into bed.
The next day as I woke up and got going with my day, I realized
that exhaustion was setting in. The 'sale of everything' was really just beginning, considering how much we still had left.
All I could do was go to the Lord and pray "bring me your strength Lord, I am not going to make it unless you
do". He did, and I felt new found energy for each day.

| All my collectible pieces were now 'For Sale'. |
|
|
|
| I decided to sell my antique 12 setting dish set from my grandmother. |
|
It was very difficult to come to terms with some
of my decisions. Down deep it hurt, and yet hope and faith welled up inside like a fresh spring water supply and my
heart took wings as I parted emotions with objects from days gone by. As I repeated the task of separation
I seemed to get stronger and confident in my belief that really good things were ahead.
Not everybody saw
everything for sale. I took it in sections and did the best I could to show case the entire downstairs and garage. Some
Saturdays and Sundays people were everywhere, thankfully Jim was not working on the weekends so he was also running around,
while staying mostly in the garage. My primary station was the front door area where I set up a pay station and bagging area
and it also helped me keep an eye on the people that were coming and going.
I met the most adorable ladies during
this time, they were excited over my things for sale and I was excited to see ladies be excited! CLICK HERE for one perfect example:) There were about ten ladies that came over and over, sometimes twice a week to buy more. As
the days got closer and closer to our departure the prices for what was left got lower and lower. I really enjoyed those ladies,
some were Christians, in fact more than not, so it made the sale of my collections easier to my inner heart.
One of those ladies was Debi, a very sweet lady that really touched my heart. In the
beginning I did not know that she was a Christian, but I knew she had a very sweet spirit about her and that I really
liked her. I could tell that she was a very careful shopper and had limited funds to spend on herself, in fact it seemed
as though she was putting her daughters needs ahead of her own. So, when she asked if I needed help the Holy
Spirit said "say yes", so I did! I knew she wanted my master bedding set, so I was more than happy to trade
her help for the set.
What a God-send she was! my angel...just when I needed help, there she was. She helped me until the day before we left, wow, what a huge
blessing. Thank you Lord.

| "Riley, you are going to be a Hawaiian poodle!" |
What about Riley? Wow! what we had to go thru to get her over here to Hawai'i was nothing less than an ordeal.
Yes, I understand the importance of keeping rabies and other such awful stuff out of the Islands ...that is very very important...however
the task is one of many details. I love the way God knows
the future, it is sooo amazing, fabulous and when you listen and obey it's even more amazing!!! It was July 20th when
all the Hawaiian Island talk began and when Holy Spirit prompted me to go ahead and get
Riley ready to go to Hawai'i - I obeyed! GOOD thing! The holding time is 120 days...So on July 25th I took her to our
Vet and had an ID chip put in her, which was the first requirement. Then she needed to have a check-up and a special blood
test, which then needed to be two-day expressed to a Lab in Kansas. Once they received it and entered it into their computer
- then the 120 days started, that put her 'ready to fly' date on Thanksgiving weekend. I went ahead and did it! I still am
in wonderment of Holy Spirits prompting and by faith my obedience, that one visit was over $200, and that was just the beginning
of the expenses. As time got closer and closer to our
departure date we still did not have a place for Riley to stay. She needed a loving and safe place to stay for about
six weeks and I knew my Papa had the perfect place for her...and so He did. It was the beginning of October and my cell phone
rang, it was my sister Debbie, actually Debbie is my sister-in-law but I think of her as my sister. She was calling
to find out if Riley had a place to stay and I replied "no, not yet", with that info she offered her home and services
to take care of Riley. "Awe, Riley would love that" I told her, and then thought about her cat. Riley is not
used to other animals really in fact she goes bolistic around other animals, so with Joe's cat I knew that the Lord had a
solution for that too. I felt very good about the answer for Riley and went on with my duties. The night before we were to fly away in the sunrise Jim and I took Riely and all her stuff over to
her new home away from home. Debbie greeted her with loving arms and we set out all her toys, blankets and food so she would
know that this was a good place to be. How do you tell your little pet friend that we will see you later - alot later - but
we will be together again? The best way you can - and then you close the door and drive away.
