It’s a new day... it’s a new dawn... and we were Marching forward.
It was March 2011 and all monies coming from California, that were sustaining us, were soon gone. There were a few sources of dollars available, so starting in December Jim decided to request his monies be sent ASAP. Should take three weeks or so? Right? hmmm... we waited we waited we waited. Early February I decided to go ahead and close out my investment account, should take a couple weeks, Right?... we waited... we waited... on both of them!
There was a lot going on at our little home...
WHAT was going on... the house was in foreclosure. A few years before, she had called the owner on the mainland to ask if she could stay and keep the property safe. Free rent for her. Now in February 2011 the bank and the realtor working for the bank, notified everyone living in the house that we were at some point, in the near future, going to have to move out.
Here’s the fast version of this part:
The next day, Jim talked to the guy and shared with him what was going on. Exactly what I had tried to do when he arrived, but to me he was hostile. When he realized the truth, he was bummed. I remember Jim sitting outside by the stairs with the guy, trying to comfort him. His money for rent had been stolen on false pretenses.
In the meantime...
Remember the Application that Jim had sent to O’ahu and then when called was not able to fly over there because monies were just not there!? (Chapter Three)
Well, I have another miracle story for you!
It still gives me 'goose bumps' when I think about how awesome God is. Thank you Jesus for your list. You think of everything.
OK... there are two miracles ahead in this particular story, this is the first...
Within the Real Estate Management company there are many properties and a handful of Managers that oversee their portfolio of HOA's or AOAO's. Jim sent his application for a management position in Kane'ohe.
WELL... hehe... I can laugh now! Here’s the back story. Jim sent the application for that job AT THE SAME TIME I decided I better start praying a request that went like this:
"Lord Jesus, please place us in a town and location that we BOTH will be happy. Remember that little town I went through in November of 2009 when we went over to O’ahu to do some barter work? Jesus, that seems like a perfect place to live. I know you care about me so much! Thank you Jesus“.
My prayers were heart felt and went to the heart of Jesus. He spoke to Manu, a really nice man and soon to be friend, at the RE Management company, who is also a Christian
"I want YOU to take Jim’s application and place it on the desk for the Kailua Condo Association job“. He obeyed! He did it!
oh! Amen
Soon after, Jim received a call – again – about a job available in the town of Kailua.
oh amen! Second miracle...
The weekend before this call, we decided to have a garage sale to start preparing for something, we knew we were moving somewhere just not sure where or how. Plus we had a few bills to pay, so the money took wings.
We set out the garage sale items and started our day. Several customers came by and all seemed normal. A lady walked up and we said Aloha:) She was nice. After a few minutes she asked us "would you consider letting me share your space and bring my items to sell?“
I looked at Jim, he looked at me... umm... "Sure!“ I said smiling, "sounds fun“. That was a first!
So she did... she immediately pulled up her car and unloaded her items. right then, right there! After the day was done, she asked if we could do it again next weekend.
"Sounds like a plan“
Towards the end of the week, Jim received a call about the job in Kailua. They wanted to have him come over to O'ahu and meet the team in Kailua. Again!!! we did not have enough to fly over and rent a car! We did not know what to do. Jim told them that we would have to talk about it and call them back. So we prayed!
The next day was the second garage sale. There was our new friend, bright and bushy tailed:) We did not have to wait for people to show up and buy our items, they came and looked and bought. During the lunchtime lull, she and I were having some nice conversations when Jesus prompted me to talk to her about our situation... so I did.
Within a half hour, she said "of course I will help you!“ and that she did. The airlines accepted her Credit Card to pay for Jim’s ticket... and the rental car company took the card as well. Done!
Oh amen! Angels!
